Rotary encoders that are plugged into the surrounding system rather than connected to it via an integral cable offer maximum flexibility. They are easy to unplug and replace, reducing service costs. And even if major changes or modifications need to be made to the system, there is no need to lay a new cable for the replacement sensor.

Flexible plug-in sensors

Up until now, plug-in sensors have had the disadvantage of being designed as sealed units containing both electronic and mechanical components and only available in limited model variants.

With the Vert-X 26 series, Contelec takes a totally new approach: freely combinable mechanical and electronic modules allow virtually any configuration.

There are various types of connector to choose from, along with an extensive range of electronic interfaces (ratiometric, analog via voltage or current, digital such as CANopen, CAN J1939, etc.) and countless options when it comes to mechanical connectivity: the choice of slide bearing or ball bearing and various levers is suitable for a wide range of applications, even where space is tight and shear forces are strong.
